TIA - Collect and Organize Data

Collect and Organize Data

Purpose: Help districts gather, verify, and organize the data components required for TIA — from teacher eligibility to student growth submission.

Key idea: Accurate, verified data across Observation, Student Growth, and Teacher Assignment ensures a smooth TIA submission year.

Process Overview

Principal verifies eligible & ineligible teachers. Confirm role, certification, and assignment meet TIA criteria.
Teachers verify student rosters. Ensure all assigned students are linked correctly.
BOY data collection. Administer baseline (SLOs or local pre-assessments) and record in district system.
Ongoing observation & tracking. Conduct T-TESS observations (Domains 2 & 3) and monitor progress.
EOY data collection & submission. Administer end-of-year measures, finalize T-TESS, compute growth, and prepare files for upload.

Required Data Types

Observation
T-TESS Domains 2 & 3 rating for each eligible teacher.
Student Growth
BOY & EOY results, SLOs, STAAR progress, or local growth measures.
Teacher Assignment
Role, service IDs, certification; campus codes for all teachers.

Calculating Student Growth

  1. Pull student data from Eduphoria or DMAC (or local platforms).
  2. Match students to verified teacher rosters (use Service IDs, campus codes).
  3. Compute growth (e.g., % meeting or exceeding target).
  4. Record in Region 14 template or district system; validate before submission.
Example Growth Table
Teacher BOY Score EOY Score % Growth Meets/Exceeds
Ms. Lopez 42 68 62% Yes
Mr. Ramirez 35 49 40% No
Formula tip: % Meeting Growth = (Students Meeting Targets ÷ Total Students) × 100

Best Practices & Pitfalls

Do
  • Verify rosters early and often.
  • Keep evidence for growth calculations.
  • Use Region 14 templates for alignment.
Avoid
  • Outdated rosters or mismatched Service IDs.
  • Submitting different file formats across campuses.
  • Editing teacher IDs post-submission.
