CTE Online Work-Based Learning Training
Teachers Assigned to Career Preparation or Practicum Courses:

Work-Based Learning (now on TEALearn and does have certificate instructions)
Teachers assigned to teach Career Preparation and Practicum courses must complete the Texas Education Agency approved training as outlined in §231.271. Career Development, Grades 9-12. subsection (e):

(e)The school district is responsible for ensuring that each teacher assigned to Career Preparation I, Career Preparation II, or Extended Career Preparation, Grades 9-12, has completed appropriate training in state and federal requirements regarding work-based learning and safety.

CTE Math and Science Online Training
All educators teaching one of the CTE math or CTE science courses that meet a high school graduation requirement (listed below) must complete a math or science professional development course. The TEA provides these courses on the Texas Gateway Online Resources site at no cost to the educator or school district.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION LEADERSHIP MEETINGS
CTE Leadership meetings are designed to help administrators stay up to date with all of the current changes in Career and Technical Education. Leadership meetings are offered 4 times during the school year. This is an opportunity to network with other programs to generate ideas and share knowledge around quality CTE programs. This year the meeting will provide topics to improve the quality of CTE programs.

NEW TEACHER COHORT
CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION NEW TEACHER COHORT
Region 14 New Teacher CTE Cohort is designed to work with new and experience teachers beginning a teaching career in Career and Technical Education. (0-5 years of CTE experience) Many CTE teachers come from industry with content knowledge but minimum knowledge of the classroom. Some new CTE teachers have years of classroom experience but minimum knowledge of CTE. These workshops are built around the needs of the cohort while learning skills for classroom management, working with special populations, and instructional design. The cohort meets 4 times a year for professional development of CTE.
