Using the Service Station

Learn how you can best use the Service Station and the STEM resources available for checkout.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN CHECKING OUT A RESOURCE:

    1. Complete the Resource Checkout Request Form at least 5-7 business days prior to the date you are requesting.

    2. A member from the Dig Inn team will contact you to confirm your reservation and ensure we bring you exactly what you are needing.

    3. We will deliver the equipment, provide a brief tutorial, and then will have you sign the checkout inventory sheet.

    4. You will have the materials up to 3 weeks to use as much as you want.

    5. We will pick up the equipment at the end of your checkout. Please make sure all equipment is returned and document any damaged or missing pieces.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN RESERVING A SERVICE STATION VISIT:

    1. Complete the reservation request form at least 4-6 weeks prior to your requested visit. Service Station Visits fill up FAST! Get on the books now! Check our availability calendar.

    2. A member of the Dig Inn team will contact you to discuss and coordinate the Service Station visit.

    3. The Dig Inn team will set up a planning meeting at your location to get an idea from the students and/or teachers involved in the Service Station experience how to cater their day. The visit usually takes place 1 week before the Service Station visit and takes about 30-45 minutes.

      We want to know:

      1. What are you learning or working on in class?

      2. What are you interested in?

      3. What is something you want to make, create, or work with?
         

    4. After the planning meeting, the Dig Inn team will work to design activities centered around your desired experience.

    5. Day of Service Station Visit - students will have an awesome day exploring, learning, collaborating, and working with resources that are engaging and facilitate critical thinking!

  • Perfect for parent engagement nights that incorporate STEM stations!  Dates are limited.

    Book a STEM Cruise Night and you will get:

    • Resources to run multiple STEM stations using our checkout equipment
    • Pre-designed activities
    • Required staff training that will empower them to run the STEM stations
    • Delivery and pick up included
  • Service Station Visit Check List

    • Secured field trip permission from administration

    • Secured a visit date

    • Secured a planning meeting date, time, and location

    • Secured bus and travel arrangements

    • Submitted student travel list to campus

    • Secured lunches/snacks if needed
