ARD Committee and LPAC Collaboration

When a student is an emergent bilingual (EB) and may also be eligible for special education services, the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee must include a representative from the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC). This is to ensure that both the student's language acquisition and disability-related needs are taken into account when making decisions about their placement, services, progress monitoring, and assessments. This is a requirement under Texas law.
