CTE Teachers

TEA Career and Technical Education Certifications

The Texas Education Agency issues nine Career and Technical Education certificates.  Trades and Industrial Education, Health Science Technology Education, and Marketing Education certificates require work experience.  For initial certification, you must meet the requirements for becoming a classroom teacher in Texas.

CTE Online Work-Based Learning Training  

The school district is responsible for ensuring that each teacher assigned to specific CTE courses has completed appropriate training in state and federal requirements regarding work-based learning and safety.  These courses include Career Prep and any Practicum Course.

New CTE Teacher Cohort Workshop

This cohort is designed for teachers new to Career and Technical Education (CTE).  CTE has many parts and it can be confusing to a new teacher or an experienced teacher (0 to 5 years in CTE).  The cohort is designed to give support to teachers in learning about instructional strategies, classroom management, TEA CTE updates and the everyday challenges of creating a quality CTE program.  Participants will receive resources and create a network of contacts.  Come join us!
