What makes our Master's of Education Degree program different?
Online and Accessible The Master's degree program is now transitioning to an online format, blending convenience with a rich educational experience. We've partnered with Sul Ross State University to offer a program you can complete from anywhere.
Real-World Connections Upon completion of your Master's degree, you'll begin working on your Texas Principal Certification through Region 14. Throughout the program, we bring in practicing superintendents, principals, counselors, and other administrators who will guide you through current issues in today's schools. You'll receive the most up-to-date information available and make direct connections with administrators who are actively involved in hiring throughout our region. For more information about the Principal Certification program, click the Principal Certification tab.
Successful completion of the 30 credit hours and the certification training, which includes an internship, provides the academic preparation required for certification in Texas.
-
The Masters program can be completed in little over a year. The remainder of the two-year program consists of Principal certification training and an internship.
For the Master's program, three core classes are taught during the fall semester and two core classes occur during the spring and summer semesters. During each semester, one class at a time meets face-to-face on Saturdays, while the other class is conducted online.
Once the 30 hour Master's program is complete, training for the Texas School Principal Certification begins. This coursework includes an internship which is served during the following school year.
