CYL

Mission Statement-Our mission is to provide high quality comprehensive services including education to promote self-sufficiency in children and families while collaborating with the school districts and community partners.

Purpose-To promote the school readiness of children from birth to five years of age by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development; from birth to five years of age.

Philosophy-Region 14/15 Head Start recognizes that children are not meant to be quiet learners, stay clean at all times, spend lengthy periods of time standing in lines, or stay seated with their hands in their laps. Children learn and develop language and communication abilities through active play during interactions with peers and their environments. Children develop at their own rates, and Region 14/15 Head Start programs provide children with learning center environments that promote cognitive and motor development, based on children’s interests and ability levels. We recognize that children need multisensory opportunities to explore their environments and want children to develop to their potentials.
