School Health Services
Support for the Texas School Health Network is provided through in-service training, workshops, and technical assistance designed to develop, implement, and improve school health services to the students in each district. In addition, the responsibility for maintaining an active and cooperative network of public, private, and voluntary school health organizations to support regional and local district efforts is a major function of the Regional School Health Specialist.

Martha Anderson, School Nurse of the Year 2017     Texas School Nurse of the Year.

Texas School Nurses Organization announces their state School Nurse of the Year from Region 14- Martha Anderson, Hawley ISD.

Martha is the district nurse for Hawley ISD who provides nursing services to PreK – 12th grade students, their families, staff and the community. Her passion for school nursing has been evident in Region 14 which lead her to being voted as Region 14 School Nurse of the Year. She has served as Region 6 TSNO President and has served on the TSNO Board. She was recently selected as President-elect of region 14. She promotes membership in TSNO to nurses and shares her knowledge of resources available through membership. Martha monitors school nursing legislation and encourages her regional nurses to contact representatives to monitor current school nursing related legislation.
