The Center for Instructional Leadership and Federal Programs is an approved sponsor for the training for school board members as required by Texas Education Code 11.159. The program consists of:
- Initial 16 hours of training for new school board members including 3 hours of Orientation to the Texas Education Code, 3 hours of Team Building, and 10 hours of continuing education as identified by the assessment of training needs related to the Statewide Standards.
- Ten hours of training for experienced board members including 2 hours of update training on the Texas Education Code, 3 hours of Team Building, and 5 hours of continuing education as identified by the assessment of training needs related to the Statewide Standards.
- Training is scheduled throughout the year at appropriate times and locations to allow for maximum participation.
