Children ages 0-3 needing special services to address physical, mental, or developmnetal delays are served by Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), a division of DARS. Region 14 initiated a partnership between (ECI), area schools and education cooperatives (SSAs) to bridge the gap during transition of services. This partnership resulted in a team of colleagues that meets quarterly to discuss hot topics and current issues concerning the transition process. Our members consist of delegates and directors from ECI and Special Education Departments in our Region 14 schools and SSAs. In 2011, our team created the first ever Region 14 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Region 14 communication forms for a smoother transition.
